                                                     LILLYS CORNER HISTORY
                                                 Kilpatrick Garage/Miami Theater
Waynesville's first automotive garage and movie theater building
was contstructed on the southwest corner of Main & Miami streets
in 1917. These buildings are currently occupied by Lillys Corner
Mall and Ole Theater Mall. The original building was 74 by 100 feet
and divided into two sections, a 20by 100ft. theater was built into the
south end.  The entire building was leased to Kilpatrick-French Motorcar
Company of Lebanon, Ohio. They operated a theater and establiched a
garage showroom in the remainder of the building. The doors of the
showroom of the New Motor Inn opened and iontroduced Ford automobiles.
The garage still has its original beams and framework plus the showroom
                     windows.

The Miami Theater opened in Grand Stylwe with great ceremony on
February 16th, 1918. Movie packed the the house to the doors to see
Mary Pickford star in " A Poor Little Rich Girl". Admission was 10 cents
plus a one cent War Tax. The theater has its original 22 foot ceilings.

The family of the current owners and operators have been involved with the 2 buildings since 1959 when Waynesville Auction House was opened. They continue to follow in the footsteps of previous family members as proprietors of business that brings joy to the collectors in all of us.
